At the Center for Contemporary Dentistry, our team is comprised of highly skilled and trained clinicians who are committed to helping you achieve a healthy, beautiful smile. We are full-service dental office with a special focus on general and cosmetic dentistry. We specialize in all areas of dentistry, including dental makeovers, veneers, dental implants, Invisalign® and teeth whitening. Tara Marshall, RDH (CA License #22101)
Tara graduated from Diablo Valley College and has been in the dental field for over ten years. She began working with Dr. Johnson and the CFCD in 2005, and is a member of both the American Dental Hygiene Association and the California Dental Hygiene Association.
Tara is married with two daughters. She enjoys spending her free time with family participating in outdoor activities such as camping and soccer games. Tara also dabbles in photography and scrapbooking.
Amy Schweim, RDH, BS (CA License #20934)
Amy graduated with high honors from the Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists in Boston, Massachusetts, and attained her BS degree in dental hygiene science from Boston's Northeastern University.
In addition to providing 13 years of patient-centered clinical care, Amy worked for Colgate Oral Pharmaceuticals and volunteered with the Bright Smiles Bright Futures national dental screening program. She was also a clinical instructor with the Massachusetts School of Pharmacy/Allied Health Sciences Dental Hygiene Program.
Amy began working with Dr. Johnson and the CFCD in 2003. Her goal is to provide patients with the highest quality of dental care in a pleasant, comfortable environment.
Amy is happily married, and is always busy with her two young children and two Jack Russell Terriers!
Cheryl Soares, RDH (CA License #17483)
Cheryl has been helping the Center for Contemporary Dentistry with the oral health care of our patients for over nine years. She graduated from the dental hygiene program at Sacramento City College with her AS degree. She has over 27 years dental experience and continually updates her education to include the newest treatments and technologies available.
Cheryl has been very active in the House of Delegates within the California Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA), representing the Sacramento Valley component. Over the last 11 years, she has held board positions ranging from secretary to treasurer, to president.
In her free time, Cheryl enjoys the coast. Her husband, John and Baby (her dog) are her loving companions.
Angela Weinzinger, RDH, BS (CA License #14924)
Angela became a hygienist in 1991 and has been working intermittently for the Center for Contemporary & Cosmetic Dentistry since that time. She graduated with her BS degree in dental hygiene from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Angela enjoys educating patients about their dental health, and likes the personal relationships she shares with her patients. She finds fulfillment in working with Dr. Johnson and other staff members who bring their experience and knowledge to the team. She is happy to be able to work in an office that has high standards and works hard to stay on the cutting edge. "It makes it so much easier to be the very best hygienist I can be".
She has been married to her husband for 17 years and has three young children. She enjoys reading, scrapbooking, cooking, attending church, and spending time with her family.
Jocelyn Akers, RDA (CA License #70787)
Joce works as a chairside assistant to Dr. Akers and has been in the dental field since 1974. She attended Merced Community College, and then Castle Air Force Base for her dental training. She has had special training for working with Invisalign orthodontic systems. Joce has also been trained to assist with Waterlase and Biolase Dental lasers and CEREC® restorations.
Joce has been married for over 30 years to an Air Force officer/dentist, and has three adult sons. Her family has lived abroad and on both U.S. coasts, but she considers California her "home". In her free time, Joce likes to travel.
Lauren Buttars, DA
Lauren works as an assistant to Dr. Paul Menges. She has been involved in the dental field for over ten years and has been working at the CFCD since 2005. She attends lectures and continuing education courses on a regular basis to keep her dental knowledge current with the latest treatments available. Attending these courses is important to Lauren because it "helps show all the possibilities the dental field offers when it comes to giving patients the best smile".
Lauren is married and enjoys outdoor activities with her husband and her dog and is an active member of her church.
Vikkie Fuller, RDA (CA License #53326)
Vikkie joined the CFCD and has been working as an assistant with Dr. Johnson since 2002. She has been in the dental field for nine years and has had special training for working with Invisalign orthodontic systems, as well as CAD/CAM certification for assisting with CEREC® restorations. She is a graduate of the dental assisting program at Western Career College.
Vikkie is married with three children. For fun family activities, they enjoy camping and boating.
Cathy A. Silaprasay, RDA, BS (CA License # 60245)
Cathy has been in the dental field since 2002, and joined the CFCD in 2009. She graduated from the dental assisting program at Foothill College in Los Altos, CA with an AS degree. She furthered her education in health science and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from CSU Sacramento in 2009 with a concentration in occupational health and safety. Cathy keeps current with her continuing education/ updates in dentistry and enjoys every aspect of it!
In her spare time, Cathy enjoys outdoor sports and activities. She snowboards in the winter; goes camping in the summer, and likes to visit family and friends on the weekends.

Clinical Coordinator/Office Manager
Kristie Doyel, RDA (CA License #27415)
Kristie has been in dentistry since 1973, and graduated from Bryman Dental College. She started with Dr. Johnson as his first chairside assistant in 1985. After years of providing hands-on patient care, she transitioned to the front desk area in 1996.
Kristie now focuses on treatment coordination and consults with patients to help them achieve their dental goals and desires. She works closely with Dr. Johnson, and helps patients review all the clinical records, radiographs, and case photos that will help determine individual treatment options. Kristie loves what she does! "I am very happy to say that I truly love my chosen profession."
Throughout the years Kristie has obtained specialized training in cosmetic dentistry through the LVI program, and has attended special courses of instruction for Invisalign orthodontic systems, CEREC® restorations, and dental lasers.
Kristie has been married for 34 years. She has two great kids, a wonderful son-in-law and six adorable grandkids that keep her very busy.

Shawn Bally
Shawn has been in the dental field for almost 20 years, and joined Dr. Johnson and the CFCD in the spring of 2006. Her experience with the administrative aspect of dentistry proves helpful to patients as she assists them with insurance questions and coverage explanations, health forms and HIPPA documents, and the scheduling of appointments. As a service to CFCD patients, Shawn prepares and submits the insurance claims for treatment performed with the appropriate X-rays/case photos to the patient's insurance company for review and payment.
Shawn is married, and the devoted mother of two wonderful girls. She enjoys spending time with her girls and taking family camping trips.

Christie Lynne Miller
Christie began her career in dentistry in 1988 working part-time as an office assistant with Dr. Johnson. She continued to work throughout high school leaving the practice in 1993 to pursue college and raise a family. Christie graduated with a BA in Psychology from Chapman University in 2007. Her career with CFCD has come full circle with a return to the practice in 2009 as Treatment Coordinator. Christie believes one of the most rewarding aspects of her position is being able to help patients with their individualized needs. She takes pride in providing patients with assistance in understanding their treatment plans as well as insurance and financial obligations.
Christie is the proud mother of 3 beautiful children. All of her free time is spent with her kids' activities as well as pursuing a Master's Degree in Psychology.

Gracie Hester
Gracie has been a patient of Dr. Johnson's since 1985, but joined CFCD as an employee in 2008. She has lived in the Vacaville area since 1976 and attended local schools. She graduated from Solano College with as AS degree in Business and Accounting, and has worked with financial institutions, professional offices, and businesses throughout the county.
She has been married for 40 years and has two grown children and one grandchild. When she is not working, she enjoys cooking, sewing, reading, and traveling with her family.

In loving memory of Yvonne Johnson (1959-2009)
Yvonne was the business administrator of the CFCD since the practice began in 1985. She played a vital role in helping to hire and maintain staff, developing office policies and working to help the practice strive forward and grow. Yvonne lost her fight to Triple Negative Breast Cancer on January 23, 2009. Yvonne was married to Dr. Johnson, and has a daughter and son who are both attending college. She was loved greatly by her family and friends, as well as our office staff and patients. She will always remain in our hearts.
